Wind vane has drifted south at last, heralding a change to Atlantic south-westerlies with some welcome rain by late Wednesday. Today is another of those hazy, partly sunny sky days - just about the same as yesterday. Slight ground frost this morning at minus 0.4 C, but 30cm soil temperature now up to 9.2 C, so my fruit and vegetables should be putting on a spurt soon. Lettuce and sprouting broccoli are looking good in the cold frame, while the sweet peppers and tomato plants are doing well in the greenhouse. All the early potatoes are in and the lawn is mown.
