Hot start to August, but changeable from 4th

After a hot dry start to August, with long sunny periods and temperatures up to 28C, the weather turned changeable, with a wet day on Thursday 4th, when 13.6 mm rain fell. Friday 5th was pleasant with temperatures up to 26C, but from 6th the weather changed to a north-westerly type; cooler with some showers and with a thunderstorm on Sunday 7th and just a little rain on 8th. The following two days were quite pleasant, dry with sunny intervals and temperatures in the low to mid twenties.
