After a damp, cold start, the rain eased off during the morning to give sunny intervals in the afternoon. A thunderstorm with several lightning strokes came along on the westerly breeze at around 7pm, giving a torrential downpour for several minutes. Yet another storm occurred about an hour, giving a maximum rainfall rate of 71mm/hour. Top temperature 18.8C.
